cpanminus software package provides script to get, unpack, build and install modules from CPAN, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cpanminus
cpanminus is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cpanminus package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cpanminus *
You will get with cpanminus package name, version, architecture and description in a table
